Blockworks - Minecraft (London 1666)

from 35.00

Created by Swedish game developer Markus Perrsson in 2011, Minecraft is a distinctive sandbox for its devotees to create their own worlds. It is composed of virtual blocks of physical-world resources such as dirt and stone that may be mined and sculpted to create castles, mountains, reconstructions of ancient cities, and anything its creative 154 million players can imagine. It is the second best-selling game of all time after Tetris and is critically recognized for its emergent and open-ended gameplay as well as its profound educational merits.

UK-based Blockworks is an internationally acclaimed design studio devoted to educational and cultural impact of Minecraft. Comprised of over 60 designers, animators, artists and developers from around the world, the studio is led by managing director James Delaney. Delaney is also the author of Beautiful Minecraft (2016), a compendium of artwork built in Minecraft that includes floating steampunk cities, alien worlds, detailed classical sculptures, fantastical landscapes, and architectural marvels.
