VGA is always looking for original content to include in our monthly digital publication, VGA Zine.

Guidelines!

  1. We appreciate a lighthearted, funny, and engaging approach to covering video game art but also not shy about grappling with problems and concerns in games and everything in between.

  2. We are interested in pieces that shine a light of video game art that is overlooked or misunderstood in other video game contexts.

  3. We are interested to hear about what is happening in your local/regional video game art community and culture.

  4. Pitches should consider multiple audiences and perspectives in approach.

  5. Articles can be around 500 words (though no one will fault you if you go over, we love to see it)

  6. Images/illustrations/video/gifs/etc. are highly encouraged.

  7. If you are interested in proposing a full-length scholarly article please consider submitting that to our peer-review journal the VGA Reader.

  8. We’re also not limiting ourselves to written articles—if you have an idea for a video essay, a comic, a podcast episode, a concept album or something weird like that, chances are we are game and will do our best to accommodate it.
