Jen Rhodes - Kentucky Route Zero Act IV by Cardboard Computer

“Kentucky Route Zero is a beautiful, haunting game that stays with you long after you finish Act V. All the prints are great but my favorite is Act IV. It’s such a simple image, but I’m taken right back to that part of the story. The game’s moodiness is conveyed so perfectly with this print.“

Bianca Crockett - A Cozy Yuletide by Superbrothers

“This piece just keeps me the strangest feeling of comfortable isolation. I like to imagine myself as this character, stepping outside my mansion for some air while being laminated by the warm light that's pouring out from my estate. Judging by the waning crescent shape of the moon I assume it's almost sunrise, as reflected by the beautiful gradient of the sky!”

Brice Puls - Still Life by Pol Clarissou

“I absolutely love the work from Vignettes, and really appreciate this piece because it perfectly represents what I appreciate about the VGA Gallery collection, a focus on work that crosses the bridge between traditional and new media. It's a unique take on a classic style and layout, is full of color, and is disambiguated far enough from the game itself that it feels like a standalone piece instead of just a still of a digital work.“

Stef Luthin – Ramen by TJ Hughes

“Nothing is more warm, comforting, and inviting than a bowl of hot soup. And soup brings us together - whether we are enjoying ramen in a group at a restaurant or bringing a friend who’s under the weather some chicken noodle. This print’s warm colors and beautiful lighting captures these energies perfectly, so that every time you look at it, a wave of calm washes over you. And that’s exactly what I need right now.“

Amy Chen - Botanicula 1 by Jaromír Plachý and Amanita Design

“I like the Botanicula 1 print, it has this luminosity to it that I love. The characters on the print are small and cute too! It has this playful feeling to it, as if they are on a journey. I have never played Botanicula, but would love to one day. The colors of the landscape are vibrant in the print, and would be a perfect piece to brighten up a space.“

Eleanor Schichtel -

London 1666

“Such a gorgeous shot, and so nuts that at first glance you really can’t tell that this was made in Minecraft. This is a meticulously designed view of London just before the Great Fire. What I love about it most is how it demonstrates how new media—especially software as accessible as Minecraft—can be used to interpret and explore history.”

Jonathan Kinkley - Jim Guthrie & His Litter by Superbrothers

“One of the games that inspired the founding of VGA and this is one of the most iconic moments in the game.“
